An amble about the neighborhood today informed me that my neighbors are ready for the Superb Owl tomorrow.

I haven’t made a “Today’s Walk” post in a while, but I talked my son into going on a three-mile excursion this morning. We decided to explore some streets we don’t usually cover in our walks and found a little pocket of houses that must be inhabited by artists. It was a delightful discovery.
Found object (?) yard art:

A colorful little free library.

And even more colorful garage doors:

I really need to up my game at home.
Happy Labor Day!

I was using some vacation hours today to work on a personal writing project, so naturally I took a three-mile walk. I assumed the day’s theme would be fall colors, but assumptions are often wrong. Also, the world around is full of astonishing finds if you pay attention.
First find, two doors down. A new resident in the neighborhood? You can’t tell from the photo, but this figure is BIG. I estimate at least seven feet tall, maybe more.
This gentleman has a polite request for us:
Whoa, how did these two get trapped here? Was it when the veil parted on Halloween? I nearly walked right over them without noticing! They’re not drawn on. They were put into the original sidewalk design when it was poured as far as I can tell.
I don’t know who Joe and Betty Wood were, but it seems they’re fondly remembered. Hi, Joe and Betty.
And finally, I did see some colors, too. ‘Tis I, Autumn.

My son-in-residence consented to walk around the neighborhood with his old mom today. We live in an interesting part of the city and always find something new to catch our attention. The neighbors did not disappoint today.

I should note the skeletons and tree stump art are not in the same yard.
Did a two-mile afternoon stroll this afternoon, under cloudy skies this time. I found some interesting art. People find all sorts of ways to be creative.
I’m drawn to rocks and rock balancing. It looks like someone had fun in the woody area next to their house.

A few more blocks and I found this:

The same yard contained an eye-catching rainbow pinwheel.

You don’t always need expensive or complicated supplies to create art that speaks to others.
